- 1Eliminate — Remove the hazard completely. Highest level of protection.
- 2Substitute — Replace the hazard with something less dangerous.
- 3Isolate — Separate the hazard from people by distance, barriers, enclosures.
- 4Engineering controls — Physical control measures such as guarding, interlocks, or ventilation.
- 5Administrative controls — Procedures, SWMS, permits, training, signage, supervision.
- 6PPE — Personal protective equipment. Last resort; supplements higher-order controls only.
Required under WHS Act / OHS Act emergency response provisions.
All workers performing the task must acknowledge they have read, understood, and will comply with this JHA. Required under WHS Act s.47–s.49 worker consultation obligations.
